The Livingston Council on Aging got into the holiday spirit with its annual Senior Christmas Party on Wednesday, Dec. 21.

Around 300 seniors from all four COA meal sites across the parish attended the festive event.

There were Christmas decorations, plenty of food, live music and dancing, and door prizes for the seniors to enjoy.

This year also marked the first “Adopt a Senior” program, sponsored by the Livingston Parish Chamber of Commerce. Through the program, members of the community purchased holiday gifts for a senior. More than 300 seniors were adopted.

Several vendors also contributed stocking stuffers.

The Livingston Council on Aging has meal sites in Denham Springs, Livingston, Springfield, and Maurepas.
