National Champs

Live Oak Middle School Cheerleaders who won the National Small Junior High Division Championship and the World Junior High Division Championship at the 2012 National High School Cheerleading Competition Orlando Florida are (from left, front) : Morgan King, Laci Baldwin, Captain Tori Darnell, Captain Ashleigh Ramsey, Rileigh Fontenot, Breanna Blount, Holland Hardison, (middle) Victoria Tassin, Carlie Hill, Bailee Klein, Mason Bonura, Alexis Davison, Emily Hiestand, Anna Kuhlmann, (back) sponsor Brandi Gary, Ally Mitchell, Karli Gautreaux, Gabrielle Brown, Madison Chapple, Kendall Calmes, Olivia Nesom, Julia Davis, Kaylee Jones, sponsor Donna Ramsey and Coach Amy Stevens. Live Oak Middle took the national championship in 2006 as well, and has since placed 3rd in 2007 and 2008 and 2nd in 2009, 2010 and 2011. They have also won the Louisiana Regional and State UCA Championships this year. The squad practices five days a week in addition to cheering at the school's football and basketball games and pep rallies and maintaining a team grade point average of 3.6.

Golden Age Mardi Gras

Golden Age Nursing Home employee Shannetta Terrance hands resident Betty Taylor a stuff animal as the staff parade through the halls giving out beads and other goodies.
